Church Camp
The Village Church offers a Church Camp each year, traditionally in November. This camp is an intentional way we encourage intergenerational ministry at the Village Church, and people of all ages attend. The camp is currently held in a caravan park which provides a variety of accommodation, with something to everyone. The camp is a relaxed, community building weekend, with optional activities, a special Saturday night meal and church together on Sunday morning. Most of all, it’s loads of fun and a great way to meet and make new church friends.
Church Camp 2025
The Village Church is very excited to confirm details for our 2025 Church Camp. This year, it will be held on the weekend of 21 - 23 November. Following the wonderful feedback provided by our community in the Church Camp survey before Christmas, a decision has been made to return to the Phillip Island Holiday Park, which was enjoyed prior to Healesville.
The beautiful Phillip Island Holiday Park, located at 24 Old Bridge Drive, Newhaven is ideally situated and relatively close to home. Located on the beachfront, the holiday park has easy access to the beach and is only 500m from shops and cafes. There is lots to keep both adults and kids entertained, not to mention it’s a perfect place to relax. The facility is great value (half the price of Healesville), with an excellent selection of cabins and camp sites. To find out more information, go to:

To further support our church community in coming along to camp, Church Council (with the expected assistance of a Synod grant) have agreed to subsidize the camp, which will include the following:
The spit roast dinner on Saturday will be at no charge to those attending.
There will be no charge for Youth Group members and leaders.
We will reimburse families for the cost of children.
We can potentially assist/subsidise other church members if they wish to attend.
And…we will ensure we have undercover community space
To further reduce cost, cabins can be shared, and you can contact John de Wijn or the church office to arrange this. This does rely on suitable parties seeking shared accommodation. We also know from the survey conducted that driving that far can be a challenge for some and might prevent people attending. John and Cam are very happy to help coordinate transport for people and ensure you feel part of our community life together. Please call out if you need help with anything.
Meals are self-catering, except for our Saturday night spit roast which will be complimentary this year. In addition to making the most of the venue and its location, activities you can expect on our camp weekend include: an intergenerational walk, beach fun and games, swimming and relaxing. A detailed schedule ensuring activities for all ages and stages of life will be provided closer to the camp for those attending.
There is a wide range of cabins, spots for your van or camping sites available. To book, call the Phillip Island Holiday park on 5956 7227, mention our booking number of 171058 (under Mt Eliza Village Church) and choose a cabin or site from their website (our community space will be somewhere on Pelican Parade (sites 108-115) so booking close to here is helpful). Don’t forget to mention you are part of the Mt Eliza Village Church Group.
PLEASE NOTE: The Phillip Island Holiday Park implements dynamic pricing, so book your accommodation at your earliest convenience to maximise cost effectiveness, as ‘the early bird catches the worm’ is definitely applicable here!
